The editor update is available on iPhone and iPad, with the other platforms following separately. Alongside optional Preview editing and clearer controls, it adds workspace search and favorites, templates and visual tables, local document history, image insertion and capture, typography with a centered column or full-window writing width, clearer writing tools and history dialogs, relative links and backlinks, export layout choices and editable DOCX output, plus optional app locking and Bulgarian/Arabic interface resources. DOCX uses readable fallbacks for graphics, and app lock does not encrypt your files. These features will depend on your installed app version; read Support for limits and platform details. Your files remain with your selected file provider.

Android Pro unlocks PDF export, printing and self-contained HTML with a one-time Google Play purchase. Opening, reading, editing and saving Markdown files, Preview, Split view, outline, find and replace, and line numbers remain unlimited and free. Editable Word (DOCX) export is planned for a later update. There is no subscription or Android trial; Google Play shows the local price before confirmation.

The Mac trial starts when you complete the free 14-day Trial activation in the app. It lasts 14 consecutive days from the original trial activation. After it ends, you can still open, read, copy, export and print documents, and save outstanding edits with Save or Save As. Creating documents or making further edits requires the one-time unlock. The trial does not renew or become a paid purchase automatically. Your documents remain your files and are not deleted when the trial ends.

Use Restore Purchases in the Mac app while signed in to the Apple Account used for the purchase. An internet connection may be needed to verify or restore access. Restoring the trial keeps its original end date; it does not start another 14 days. If a purchase is refunded or revoked, it no longer grants the unlock.

No separate Markling account is needed. The Mac trial, unlock and restoration use your Apple Account; Android Pro purchases and restoration use Google Play. If you choose a cloud file provider, that provider may require its own account.

Local editing and bundled diagram and math rendering work offline. On Mac, creating documents and making edits require an active trial or unlock. Android core editing stays free; a previously verified Android Pro purchase can support offline exports while Google Play is temporarily unavailable. Starting a trial, buying or restoring an unlock, remote HTTPS images, and cloud file providers may need a connection.

In the locations you choose through your device's file tools. Mac uses Save and Save As; mobile documents save in place when the chosen file provider allows it. Android keeps local recovery data for unsaved changes when needed.

Markling supports UTF-8 Markdown documents up to 16 MiB, with CommonMark and GitHub-Flavored Markdown features, plus Mermaid diagrams, fenced and dollar-delimited math, and footnotes. Access to folders and neighboring images follows your file provider's permissions. Export has separate size and rendering limits; see Support for details.
